About this Role
Build and maintain web platforms that power the organization’s initiatives, collaborating with design and product teams to deliver seamless, responsive, and innovative user experiences
Responsibilities
- Maintain, manage and develop existing websites under SFU Surge
- Create web applications as needed by the organization
- Collaborate closely with the Product Design team on debriefs and handoffs of website functionality
Skills
- Strong proficiency in React, TailwindCSS, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL
- Must possess a strong background in creating websites with responsive design using modern CSS techniques (such as Flexbox and CSS Grid)
- Must have solid knowledge of semantic HTML structure and know how to write clean markup
- Must be able to faithfully transform designs into code
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Eagerness to learn different technologies and development practices
Commitment
- Weekly commitment is 10 hrs/week
- Weekly department meeting attendance is expected
- If you cannot make a meeting, you need to communicate it to your Director at least 24 hours in advance
- Always read meeting minutes and communicate about your progress with action items
