About this Role
Craft intuitive, visually cohesive interfaces by maintaining the club’s design system and developing responsive layouts that enhance user experiences across platforms
Responsibilities
- Supporting product design team in the maintenance and evolution of Strike, SFU Surge’s design system by updating components, styles, and documentation
- Helping document design guidelines, patterns, and best practices within the design system to ensure coherence among design and development teams
- Collaborating with the UX researchers to create interactive low- to mid- fidelity prototypes for usability testing and dev handoff
- Creating wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts, interactions, and user flows, iterating based on feedback and usability testing results
- Designing responsive layouts that adapt to various screen sizes and orientations, considering breakpoints and fluid grids to ensure a seamless user experience across, desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
Skills
- Completed IAT 235, 238, and 334
- Experience working with design systems and components
- Comfortable using auto layout, creating UI mockups, and interactive prototypes on Figma
- Experience creating responsive layouts
- Experience designing for multiple breakpoints
Commitment
- Weekly commitment is 10 hrs/week
- Weekly department meeting attendance is expected
- If you cannot make a meeting, you need to communicate it to your Director at least 24 hours in advance
- Always read meeting minutes and communicate about your progress with action items
